Vince Hurley

BOARD MEMBER

Vince commenced with Australian Sustainable Hardwoods Pty Ltd (ASH) in 1992 when the business was Neville Smith Timber Industries. Prior to this, Vince worked as a forester and has a long family association with hardwood sawmilling. He has a Bachelor Forest Science (Hons) 1985, University of Melbourne.

Vince leads a great team that has taken the business from a smaller hardwood sawmilling operation producing kiln dried timber, to one of Australia’s largest hardwood sawmill and timber processing operations and Australia’s largest manufacturer of timber products. The company has a history of successful people, process, product and market innovation that has enabled this growth.

Vince has travelled extensively and successfully introduced innovation to ASH from Europe, South Africa, China and the USA. He is a contributor to Oregon State University (USA) Wood Innovation Centre and Bern University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland) Wood Engineering degree.

Vince is a member of the Institute of Foresters of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
